Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a natural way to help relieve many conditions including back and neck pain, arthritic pain, stress and posture related conditions and any muscle or joint aches or strains. Treatment is suitable for all, from the very young to the elderly, for people needing rehabilitation and those with either active or more desk bound occupations.

Osteopathy is a system of healthcare that recognises each person as an individual and is complementary to conventional medicine. Using a highly developed sense of touch and recognising the link between the structure of the human body and the way it functions, osteopaths identify problem areas of the body. Utilising gentle stretching and mobilisation techniques as well as joint manipulation, the osteopath works with the body to create the right conditions for healing.

Osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council, which was created by the Osteopaths Act 1993. Osteopaths undergo rigorous training and continuing professional development.
